Website cost ranges in 2026 (USD)
These are the planning ranges the calculator starts from, and they are the prices we quote. They assume a clear brief and content that is ready or close to ready. Template-based builds come in lower than custom design; extra pages, features and a rush schedule push the number up.
| Project type | Typical range (USD) | Typical timeline |
|---|---|---|
| Landing page | $800 to $1,500 | 1 to 2 weeks |
| Small business website (5 to 10 pages) | $1,500 to $4,000 (about $2,000 typical) | 2 to 4 weeks |
| Larger custom site or redesign | $3,000 to $6,000 | 3 to 6 weeks |
| E-commerce store | $6,000 to $20,000 | 4 to 10 weeks |
| Website plus iOS and Android apps | $12,000 to $25,000 | 8 to 14 weeks |
| Web app or customer portal | $8,000 to $30,000+ | 6 weeks to 7 months |
Maintenance runs roughly 15 to 20% of the build cost per year, or a monthly plan. Need apps as well? A website plus iOS and Android apps typically costs $12,000 to $25,000; the app cost calculator at mobileapplication.ca prices app features in detail.

What makes a website cost more
- Page count and layouts. Each distinct layout needs design, build and testing. Twenty pages that share three templates cost less than twenty unique ones.
- Custom design. A design made for your brand takes longer than adapting a theme, and usually converts better.
- Features with logic. Booking, payments, memberships and integrations each add backend work and testing.
- Content. Copywriting, photography and migrating old content are real work and often the reason a launch slips.
- Accessibility and SEO done properly. Building to WCAG 2.2 AA and setting up redirects, schema and analytics at the start is far cheaper than fixing them later.
What the estimate leaves out
Hosting, your domain name, paid plugins or apps, stock photography and ongoing maintenance are separate. We list each of these in a written quote so nothing surprises you later.

No. It is a planning range based on typical projects with the options you picked. A written, fixed-scope quote confirms the final price before any work starts, and that quote is free.
The low end assumes clear content, few revisions and simple layouts. The high end allows for more design exploration, complex content and extra testing. A short call about your project usually narrows it a lot.

Hosting, the domain, paid plugins or apps, stock photography and ongoing maintenance are priced separately. We list them in the written quote so you can compare like for like.
A landing page usually takes 1 to 2 weeks, a small business site 2 to 4 weeks, a larger site or redesign 3 to 6 weeks, and an e-commerce store 4 to 10 weeks. Content readiness is the most common reason a timeline slips.
Plan for roughly 15 to 20% of the build cost per year, or a monthly plan that covers updates, backups, security patches and small changes. Hosting and paid plugins are separate.
