Who we are

DeveloperOfWeb.com is a product of Four Cents, a senior web development studio founded in 2023. Four Cents is a team of 7, small enough that the founder and the lead developer are involved in every project: the lead developer leads the build, and the founder runs the scope, timeline and budget. We fix and build websites and web apps to WCAG 2.2 AA for businesses across the United States, with prices in US dollars, and we take on Canadian clients too. We handle the backend, hosting, launch and support that go with them.

The kind of work we take on

Our projects sit between two extremes. On one side are template sites that any builder can produce; on the other are enterprise systems with dedicated engineering departments. We build the things in the middle that most growing companies actually need: a marketing site coded to convert, a customer or partner portal, an internal dashboard, an online store with rules a platform cannot express, or a redesign that has to keep its search traffic. We work in React, Next.js and Node.js for applications, and in WordPress or a headless CMS when the job is content.

We decline work as often as we accept it. If a hosted product will solve your problem for a monthly fee, we will tell you so before quoting a custom build.

How we work

We quote every project fixed-scope, so you know the cost before any work begins. Only senior engineers touch your project, not juniors learning on your budget, and you own all of the source code, designs and intellectual property at handover.

Day to day that means discovery calls, a written scope, a clickable prototype, then weekly builds on a staging environment you can test yourself. You deal directly with the engineers, not an account layer. Most clients spend one to three hours a week on the project. The process page covers each stage and what we need from you.
