Free website design and development for nonprofits
If you run a nonprofit, the website budget is usually the first thing to get cut. So we removed it. We design and develop nonprofit websites free of charge, and you cover hosting plus a maintenance and support plan. You get both figures in writing before we start, with no build invoice at the end.
How the offer works
- You tell us about your organisation. Use the form on this page. It takes about two minutes.
- We confirm eligibility and scope. A short call to agree which pages and features are included.
- You receive the hosting and support plan in writing. This is the only thing you pay for. Nothing starts until you have approved it.
- We design and build the site at no charge. You review it on a private link and request changes.
- We launch, train your team and keep looking after it.
What is included in the free build
- Discovery call to understand your programs, audiences and what the site must achieve
- Custom design in your brand, built mobile-first and tested on real phones
- The pages a nonprofit needs: mission, programs, impact, ways to give, volunteer, events, news, contact
- Donation flow connected to your existing giving platform or payment provider
- Accessible build: keyboard navigation, contrast, alt text, labelled forms
- A simple editor and a recorded walkthrough so staff and volunteers can update content themselves
What you pay for: hosting, maintenance and support
A website is never finished on launch day. It needs hosting, updates, backups and someone to call. That ongoing work is what you pay for, on a plan sized to your organisation:
- Fast managed hosting with SSL and automated backups
- Software and dependency updates with testing
- Security monitoring and incident response
- Uptime and performance monitoring
- A support inbox for content changes and small improvements, within your plan
We quote the plan before the build begins, and the terms, including how either side can end it, are set out in the written agreement. There is no charge for the quote.
Who is eligible
- Registered charities and incorporated nonprofit organisations
- Community groups, foundations, places of worship, shelters, food banks, youth and sports associations, and similar mission-led organisations
- Organisations that need a standard informational and fundraising website
We take on a limited number of nonprofit builds at a time so each one gets proper attention. If the queue is full we will tell you the realistic start date instead of saying yes and going quiet.
What is not covered by the free build
We would rather be clear now than surprise you later. These are paid by the organisation or quoted separately:
- Your domain name and any third-party licences, premium plugins, stock photography or fonts you choose
- Payment processing fees charged by your donation or payment provider
- Large custom software such as member portals, case management, custom databases or mobile apps
- Copywriting, photography and translation beyond light editing of the content you supply
Why we do it this way
Most agencies make their money on the build and lose interest after launch. We flipped it. The build is our contribution, and the ongoing plan is how the work stays sustainable for us. It also means we only do well if your site keeps working, which is the incentive a nonprofit should want from its web partner.
You own your content, your domain and your donor relationships throughout. If you ever move on, we hand over the site files and a current backup.
FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Yes. We do not charge for the design and build of a standard nonprofit website. You pay for hosting and an ongoing maintenance and support plan, which we quote in writing before any work begins.
Hosting and a maintenance and support plan, plus any third-party costs you choose such as your domain name, premium licences and the processing fees your donation provider charges.
It depends on the size of the site and how much support you want, so we quote it for your organisation rather than publishing one number. You get the figure in writing before we start, and the quote is free.
Registered charities and incorporated nonprofits are eligible. If you are a community group without formal registration, tell us about your work and we will let you know.
You do. Your content, domain and donor data stay yours, and if you leave we hand over the site files and a current backup.
Yes. Most nonprofit projects we see are rebuilds. We move your existing content across, keep your search rankings with proper redirects, and retire the old site once the new one is live.
It depends on how quickly content and feedback come back from your side and how full our nonprofit queue is. We give you a realistic start and launch date on the first call.
