ADA compliance audit for websites
An ADA compliance audit tells you which parts of your website block people with disabilities, which WCAG 2.2 AA rule each problem breaks, and what it takes to fix it. We test by hand with a keyboard and a screen reader, not only with a scanner, and you get an itemized fix list plus a fixed quote in US dollars.

Is this the right service for you?
It usually is when one of these describes you:
- You received a demand letter or a complaint about your website and need to know what is actually wrong
- You are a state or local government body, school or contractor facing the ADA Title II deadlines
- A customer, partner or procurement team has asked whether your site meets WCAG 2.1 or 2.2 AA
- You ran a free scanner, got a long list of errors and want a person to tell you what matters
What's included
- Automated scan of every page template with axe-core, the open source engine many audit tools are built on
- Manual keyboard test of navigation, menus, forms, dialogs and checkout
- Screen reader checks with NVDA on Windows and VoiceOver on iPhone or Mac
- Color contrast, zoom to 400 percent, reflow and text spacing checks
- Form labels, error messages and the WCAG 2.2 rules on focus, target size and accessible sign-in
- An itemized issue list: where it is, which success criterion it fails, how serious it is and how to fix it
- A fixed-price remediation quote, and a retest after the fixes
Where the scope line sits
An audit is priced on what has to be tested, not on the number of URLs. A blog with 400 posts built on one template is one template.
| Covered by a standard quote | Priced separately |
|---|---|
| Every distinct page template in the agreed list | Fixing the issues (quoted separately, fixed price) |
| The key user flows in the agreed list | Large PDF document libraries |
| Keyboard, screen reader, contrast, zoom and reflow testing | Native mobile apps |
| PDF and spreadsheet report | Third-party widgets you cannot change, which we flag but cannot fix |
| One retest round after fixes | Legal advice or a legal certificate of compliance |
How we approach it
- Scope. We list your page templates and the flows that matter most, such as contact, booking, account sign-in and checkout. A ten page brochure site usually has three or four templates. Output: a written audit scope and a fixed price.
- Automated pass. We scan every template with axe-core and a crawler, then remove false positives by hand. Output: a raw issue log.
- Manual testing. We work through each template and flow with only a keyboard, then with a screen reader, and check contrast, zoom, reflow and motion. Output: verified issues with screenshots and code locations.
- Report. We group issues by template so one fix clears many pages, and rank them by how badly they block a task. Output: the audit report and a fixed remediation quote.
- Retest. After the fixes, ours or your developer's, we retest every reported issue. Output: an updated report showing what passed.
What lands in your hands at the end
- An audit report as an accessible PDF and a spreadsheet you can hand to any developer
- Each issue mapped to its WCAG 2.2 success criterion and level
- Code-level fix notes for your platform, whether WordPress, Shopify, Webflow or custom code
- A fixed-price quote to fix everything, or only the issues you choose
- A retest after fixes and a draft accessibility statement you can publish
Technologies we use

Typical timeline
Most small business audits are delivered within one to two weeks of the scope being agreed.
- The number of templates and flows to test
- Logins or test accounts we need for gated areas
- Third-party widgets such as booking or chat tools that need separate checks
What can go wrong, and how we prevent it
- Relying on an overlay widget. Overlays do not fix the underlying code. The FTC's April 2025 final order required accessiBe to pay $1 million over claims that its widget could make sites compliant. We fix the code itself.
- Treating a clean automated scan as proof. Automated tools catch only part of WCAG issues. Keyboard and screen reader testing finds the rest, which is why both are in every audit.
- An audit that sits in a drawer. Every issue comes with a fix note and a price, so the report turns into work, not a to-do list nobody owns.
Why choose us
- Manual testing on every audit, not a scanner printout
- Fixes priced in writing in US dollars before any work starts
- The same team can fix what it finds, so nothing is lost in a handover
- We say plainly what an audit cannot do: it is technical evidence, not legal advice
Case studies
Our public case study is GastroCares, a medical practice site we built and maintain. We add case studies here only when a client agrees to be named.

FAQ Answers
Frequently asked questions
It is a structured test of your website against the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines, usually WCAG 2.1 or 2.2 Level AA, which courts, settlements and the ADA Title II rule point to. A proper audit combines automated scanning with manual keyboard and screen reader testing.
The automated scan of one page is free with our accessibility checker. A manual audit is quoted as a fixed price within 24 hours, based on your page templates and key flows. Fixing the issues on a small business site on a sound platform is typically $500 to $2,000.
No. Automated tools catch only part of WCAG issues. They cannot judge whether alt text is accurate, whether focus order makes sense or whether a screen reader user can finish your checkout. Use a scanner to find quick wins, then test by hand.
No one can promise that. An audit and the fixes reduce the barriers that lead to complaints and give you a record of good faith work. This is technical work, not legal advice; speak to a lawyer about any demand letter.
WCAG 2.2 Level AA by default. Meeting 2.2 AA also meets 2.1 AA, the standard named in the ADA Title II rule for state and local governments.
Yes. See accessibility remediation. You can also hand the report to your own developer; it is written so anyone can act on it.
